Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - At 10:10pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Reid Street and King Street in the City of Hamilton involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that a car stopped to allow the pedestrian, a 47 year old Pembroke man, to cross the road via the marked pedestrian crossing. As he was doing so a motorcycle traveling up Spurling Hill into the City of Hamilton collided with him. As a result, the pedestrian was thrown on to the sidewalk and the motorcycle collided with a nearby parked motorcycle. The 47 year old Pembroke man (pedestrian) sustained a broken right foot and facial injuries. The motorcycle rider, a 39 year old Pembroke man, sustained head and facial injuries as well as bruising to his right hand. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Both injured parties were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries. The motorcycle involved was extensively damaged while the parked motorcycle received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Bernadette Lawrence on 295-0011.

Damage Only RTC Involving Police Vehicle

Around 9pm Tuesday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Middle Road and Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick involving a Police vehicle and a motorcycle. It appears that the Police van was traveling north on Cobbs Hill Road and the motorcycle was traveling west on Middle Road when the vehicles collided. As a result the motorcycle rider fell to the ground; however he quickly got back on to the motorcycle and left the scene. The Police officer driving the van was not injured. The Police vehicle received moderate damage to its right side. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact Acting Sergeant Travel Brown on 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 4:30pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Jennings Road, Smith’s parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 4:25pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an X-Box video game system and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
