Suspicious Circumstances/Attempted Robbery - Around 10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of suspicious men outside Lindo’s Family Foods on Middle Road in Warwick. Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and spoke with the complainant, a 36 year old Warwick man. The Warwick man stated that he was using the ATM machine located outside Lindo’s when he was approached by two unknown men as he went to leave. One of the suspects grabbed him and demanded money; however the 36 year old managed to make good his escape on foot. The suspects gave chase briefly before also making good their escape on foot, taking a shopping bag containing food items left behind by the complainant. The 36 year old Warwick man received an injury to his left hand but declined medical treatment. The suspects are described as two black males wearing dark coloured jackets; one was approximately 5’6” tall of stocky build and lighter skinned than the other. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

There were several vehicles traveling through the area of Middle Road, Warwick during the time of this incident. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
