Handbag Snatch - At 9:05pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch in the vicinity of the Fairmont Southampton Resort. The complainant, a 25 year old New York man, stated that he was riding his rental cycle up the hill to the hotel when two unknown individuals on a motorcycle rode up from behind and removed his black backpack from the rental cycle’s basket. The culprits then made good their escape. The visitor was not injured. The backpack contained items of clothing. One of the suspects was described as of stocky build wearing a blue jacket; he was the pillion passenger on a red motorcycle which fled the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Burglary

Around 9:40am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Shaw Wood Crescent, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:40am and 7:40pm on Monday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of antique English coins. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
