Handbag Snatch - Around 11:45pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch on Scaur Hill in Sandys parish. It appears that around 11:40pm that day, the complainant a 52 year old Quebec woman (Canadian visitor) was the pillion passenger on a rental cycle traveling toward Dockyard when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode up from behind, took a black duffle bag from the rental cycle’s basket and made good their escape heading east. The duffle bag contained personal items including a quantity of cash and a cellular phone. The complainant and her male companion (rental cycle rider) were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this handbag snatch to contact the Western Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
