The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

All of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with 1 car also stolen during the period. Of the 7 vehicles reported stolen 3 were subsequently recovered, including the car.
Fatal RTC - Road Victim Identified
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 41 year old Andre Hendrickson of Southampton. Mr. Hendrickson was killed when he was struck by a car on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the Mid Atlantic Boat Club around 1:15am Saturday, April 17th. The Bermuda Police Service extends sincere condolences to Mr. Hendrickson’s family & friends. An investigation into this matter is ongoing. Police continue to appeal for any witnesses to this incident, particularly anyone who may have known of Mr. Hendrickson’s whereabouts between midnight and 1:15am Saturday, April 17th. Update - Serious Assault
The 17 year old Sandys parish man injured during a serious assault that occurred around 12 noon Saturday April 17th on Middle Road in Southampton in the vicinity of Traditions Restaurant has now been flown overseas to Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, Maryland USA for further medical treatment. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this incident and are especially interested in speaking with any motorists traveling through the area around 12 noon Saturday who may have seen an altercation between two or three men in the bus lay by opposite Traditions Restaurant. Robbery & Burglary at The Upper Crust Restaurant in Warwick
Around 10:15pm on Monday, Police received a report of a robbery at The Upper Crust Restaurant on Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick. It appears that the victim, a 34 year old Devonshire man (employee) was accosted by two unknown men as he arrived at the premises on his motorcycle. The suspects demanded money, with one brandishing a bladed article. The Devonshire man handed over a quantity of cash and the suspects made good their escape in a car. The victim was not injured. The suspects are described as light skinned, 5’4” tall wearing dark coloured clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Western Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
There was a burglary at the same premises around 3:45am Monday where an unknown culprit gained entry and made good his escape with an 18” Samsung flat screen TV. Injury RTC
Around 5:40pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Spring Benny Road involving a car and a pedestrian. It appears that the car was traveling east on Middle Road and the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road when the collision occurred. The victim, a 30 year old woman, sustained back injuries. The driver of the car, a 26 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 5:15pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Jacksons Drive and Canal Road in Pembroke. It appears that a car was traveling south on Jacksons Drive and a motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 19 year old Pembroke man, sustained facial abrasions. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and subsequently released. The driver of the car, a 59 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the car received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 3:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Cobbs Hill Road in Paget involving three vehicles. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however, the injuries sustained were apparently minor. All three vehicles apparently sustained moderate damage. The collision caused traffic delays as motorists were diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Damage Only RTC
At 3:30pm on Monday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Knapton Hill and Skyline Road in Smith’s parish. It appears that a taxi was traveling west on Knapton Hill when the driver, a 68 year old Hamilton parish man, lost control. As a result the vehicle slid into a wall and overturned. The driver was not injured; however the taxi received extensive damage to its left side.
