Witness Appeal, Fatal RTC - Police are continuing to appear for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 1:15am Saturday on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the Mid Atlantic Boat Club involving a car and a pedestrian. Details about how the collision occurred remain unclear and the identity of the male pedestrian victim is still unknown at this time. He is described as a dark skinned man of stocky build, approximately 30 – 50 years old, wearing a black hooded jacket, beige/khaki pants and new black & white Adidas sneakers. He may frequent the area and was pronounced dead at 1:30am Saturday by an on call physician at KEMH. The driver of the car, a 27 year old Hamilton parish man, was arrested and has subsequently been released on Police bail.

This marks the 4th road fatality for 2010.
Witness Appeal – Serious Assault
Police are also continuing to appeal for witnesses to a serious assault that occurred around 12 noon Saturday on Middle Road in Southampton (not Sandys parish as originally stated) in the vicinity of Traditions Restaurant. Details about the incident remain unclear; however, it appears that an altercation took place between two or three men in the bus lay by across from Traditions Restaurant. As a result, a 17 year old Sandys parish man sustained serious stab wounds to his upper body. He was apparently taken to Port Royal Fire Station by a member of the public where he was treated by EMTs before being rushed to KEMH via ambulance. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition. A 17 year old St. George’s man arrested in connection with the incident has subsequently been released on Police bail.
This serious assault happened during the day on a busy stretch of road. Police are interested in speaking with any motorists traveling through the area around the time of the incident; anyone who may have seen an altercation between two or three men in the bus lay by across from Traditions Restaurant or in the vicinity of the Port Royal Esso gas station. Injury RTC
At 11:30am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Scaur Lane involving three cars. It appears that all three vehicles were traveling south on Somerset Road when the driver of the lead car slowed down in an attempt to make a right turn. The driver of the third car was unable to react in time and as a result all three vehicles collided. The driver of the second car, a 22 year old Sandys parish man, was injured and taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. His injuries were non-life threatening and he was subsequently released from the hospital. The drivers of the other two cars, a 38 year old woman and a 37 year old man, were not injured. The 37 year old man’s passenger, a 31 year old woman, was also uninjured. The vehicles received moderate damage. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately two hours. Inquiries are underway.
