Burglary - Around 7:40pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Barrack Hill, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime between 8:30am and 7:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Nintendo Wii video game system and two Wii games. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. We are reminding all residents to keep their valuables locked away & out of sight, ideally in a safe. In addition, the serial numbers of all ‘big ticket’ items (such as jewelry & electronics) should be written down and secured in a safe or separate secure location; in the event any of these items are stolen and later recovered, the information can be used to identify them.

Finally, residents should make sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. For more information on how to better secure your home, contact the Crime Prevention Unit on 299-4246.

In addition, the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
