Burglary - At 4:15am today, Police received a report of a burglary at a Harbour Road, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime overnight an unknown culprit gained entry into the home. The culprit stole a brown purse containing a digital camera, a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Attempted Burglary
Around 2:05am today, Police received a report of an attempted burglary at a Bayfield Road, Warwick residence. It appears that around 2am one of the complainants was inside the kitchen/dining area when she heard a noise at the dining room windows and alerted the male occupant of the residence who went outside to check. As he did an unknown man made good his escape on foot up the driveway. The suspect is described as light skinned, approximately 5’7” tall with short hair wearing black clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Baby Born in Car
Around 3:15am on Sunday, a Police officer was on foot patrol in the City of Hamilton outside the Bermuda Bistro at the Beach on Front Street when he was alerted to a woman giving birth in a nearby car. The officer immediately made his way to the junction of Front Street and Burnaby Street where he located the vehicle outside the Bank of Butterfield. On arrival mother, new born son and father were found in good health. The officer offered assistance to make the mother as comfortable as possible until medical personnel arrived. EMTs attended a short time later and mother & son were taken to KEMH via ambulance. A subsequent check at the hospital confirmed both mother and baby are doing well.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend no one was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and there were 9 reported burglaries. There were also 5 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 3 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 2 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
