Witness Appeal - Fatal RTC

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the road traffic collision that claimed the life of 26 year old Carlton Darrell of Pembroke. It appears that Mr. Darrell was riding a motorcycle on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Belvedere Road around 10:35pm Friday, April 2nd 2010 when he lost control and collided with a wall. Mr. Darrell sustained serious head, neck and chest injuries and was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. In particular, Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen Mr. Darrell at a Shelly Bay, Hamilton parish residence Friday night prior to the collision; anyone who may have seen a group of vehicles traveling together from Shelly Bay towards the City of Hamilton around 10pm Friday; or anyone who was at the scene of the collision shortly after it occurred. Anyone with any information is urged to contact PC Richard Geraghty on 295-0011.

Marine Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service Marine Unit would like to remind the public as of April 1st all boats (including jet skis, punts and kayaks) should be re-registered with the Department of Marine and Port Services and the blue 2010 registration decals once issued should be displayed on the starboard (right) side of the vessel as close as possible to the registration numbers. Moorings also need to be re-registered and the blue 2010 mooring decals should also be fitted to the mooring buoy. Marine Unit officers will be enforcing this regulation and any person who is found using a vessel or mooring without displaying a current 2010 registration decal runs the risk of prosecution.
