Confirmed Firearm Incidents - Around 10:45pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a gunshot in the Club Road, Smith’s parish area. Police attended the scene a short time later and conducted a thorough search of the vicinity. Forensic evidence found suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured. An investigation into this matter is underway.

Around 12:45am on Sunday, Police received a report of a gunshot in the Cambridge Road, Sandys parish area. Police attended the scene a short time later and conducted a thorough search of the vicinity. Forensic evidence found subsequently suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured. An investigation into this matter is underway.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to these incidents or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8115 or the independent 24 hour confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477. Arrests

On Sunday afternoon seven individuals (5 men & 2 women, ranging in age from 19 years old to 34 years old) were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug (believed to be cannabis) as Police exercised their stop & search capability along Middle Road in Southampton and Sandys parish. Inquiries into these matters are ongoing.

Reported Gunshots in St. George’s [No True Case]

At 5:45am on Sunday, Police received a report of gunshots in the Ferry Reach, St. George’s area. Police attended the scene a short time later and conducted inquiries in the area, which revealed that the Bermuda Regiment was conducting a training exercise in the area. Therefore no further Police action was required.

Burglary

Around 12:20am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a North Shore Road, Devonshire residence. It appears that around midnight the female complainant arrived home to find an unknown man inside the premises. The intruder demanded money and a quantity of cash was given to him by the Devonshire resident. The suspect, described as a brown skinned male of stout build with a low haircut, dressed in a green short sleeved polo shirt and long blue jeans, made good his escape with the cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 reported burglaries. There were also 14 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 5 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 6 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
