Vehicle Fire - Around 1:50am today, Police received a report of a vehicle fire at a White Hill View, Sandys parish residence. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. On arrival officers observed a car parked outside the home ablaze. The fire was extinguished by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel. The interior of the vehicle was damaged. There were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
Robbery
At 10:25pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the victim, a 44 year old Sandys parish man (taxi driver), was working in the Devonshire area around 10:15pm when he was flagged down on Watlington Road East. As the taxi came to a stop, the suspect approached the vehicle and brandished what appeared to be a firearm before demanding money. The taxi driver handed over a quantity of cash and the suspect made good his escape as the pillion passenger on a waiting motorcycle. The taxi driver was not injured. The main suspect is described as a black male wearing dark coloured clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Missing Person – Martin Molinski
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who can help locate 26 year old Martin Molinski who was last seen at his residence at #1 Long Lane Pembroke, between 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday March 17th, after being out with his friends. When Molinski did not show up for work Thursday morning, his friends went to his residence to check on him and could not find him at the residence.
Martin is a British national and has only been on the island for 6 months. He is described as being a white male between 6’ and 6’2” tall, medium build, closely cropped haircut with a light moustache and beard.
