Sexual Assault - Around 11pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a sexual assault on Burnt House Hill in Warwick. It appears that the victim, a 28 year old Warwick woman, was returning to her residence on her auxiliary cycle. As she prepared to park the auxiliary cycle outside her residence, the Warwick woman was accosted by an unknown man. The suspect is described as a light skinned male, approximately 6’ tall of slim build wearing dark coloured clothing. He made good his escape on foot towards Middle Road. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
Disturbance
Around 8:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a disturbance on Cedar Park Road in Devonshire. It appears that a group of men in the area got into a disagreement which led to a physical altercation taking place between them. Reportedly a bladed article and a blunt object were used during the scuffle. As a result a 47 year old Devonshire man and a 25 year old Devonshire man were injured. The 47 year old Devonshire man was treated at KEMH for a laceration to the face and released. The 25 year old Devonshire man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of facial injuries and is currently in stable condition at the hospital. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Injury RTC
At 4:20pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Burnt House Hill in Warwick involving an auxiliary cycle and a car. It appears that the auxiliary cycle and the car were traveling west on Middle Road, with the auxiliary cycle in front of the car. As the auxiliary cycle attempted to turn on to Burnt House Hill, the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, an 18 year old Southampton woman, was thrown from the cycle into the path of oncoming traffic, where a truck traveling in the opposite direction struck her legs. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of injuries to both legs. The driver of the car, a 75 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. The auxiliary cycle received rear end damage while the car received front end damage. Traffic in the area was delayed as a result. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
