Fire - Around 5am on Saturday, Police attended a reported fire at a Mount Hill Mews, Pembroke residence. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service was already at the scene dealing with the blaze. It appears that four apartments were extensively damaged as a result. The fire was eventually extinguished by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel. There were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Injury RTC

At 9:50am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with The Glebe Road involving a bus and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and the bus was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 17 year old Hamilton parish man, reportedly sustained a dislocated hip. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The bus driver, a 38 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. It is not clear if there were any passengers onboard the bus at the time. The auxiliary cycle received damage to multiple areas while the bus received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Point Finger Road in Paget involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was exiting Point Finger Road and the motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 28 year old Devonshire man and the pillion passenger, a 34 year old Devonshire man, were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the car, a 48 year old Warwick woman, was not injured. The car received moderate front end damage while the motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 3pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Cavendish Road in Pembroke near the junction with Hibiscus Lane involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the car and the motorcycle were both traveling west on Cavendish Road with the car in front of the motorcycle when the car came to a stop. The motorcycle was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the car. The rider of the motorcycle, a 31 year old Warwick man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 26 year old St. George’s woman, was not injured nor was her front seat passenger, a 37 year old St. George’s man. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the car received extensive rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
