Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 3:40am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Knapton Hill and Skyline Road in Smith’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling south on Knapton Hill when the driver, a 28 year old Devonshire man, lost control. As a result the vehicle collided with the verge and overturned, ending up on its roof. The Devonshire man was not injured and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Burglary
Around 4:35pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Old Maid’s Lane, St. George’s residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 4pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend there were 8 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 8 reported burglaries. There were also 5 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 6 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 9 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
