January 31 - Weekend Report

Assault - Around 3:50am on Saturday, Police received a report of an assault at Ice Queen in Paget. It appears that several individuals were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot. However, the alleged culprits made good their escape before the arrival of Police. A 28 year old Paget man and two other men were injured and taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The Paget man sustained stab wounds to his body and is currently in stable condition on a general ward. The second injured man also received treatment while the third injured man left the hospital before receiving treatment. A car parked in the parking lot of Ice Queen was damaged during the scuffle. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Disturbance

Around 2:50am on Saturday, Police attended a reported disturbance at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. Details about what occurred are unclear; however, a 22 year old Southampton man was injured. He was treated at KEMH for injuries to his head and body and released. Patrons who were at the premises at the time of the incident refused to provide any information to Police. Inquiries are underway. Assault/Robbery

Around 3:55pm on Friday, Police received a report of an assault/robbery in the area of Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton. The victim, a 36 year old Devonshire man, stated that he got on the bus near The Marketplace in Sandys parish and noticed two unknown men wearing all black clothing also board the bus. All three men got off the bus at White Hill. It appears that the Devonshire man started walking east with the two unknown men following him. When he was in the area of Port Royal Golf Course the two unknown men attempted to grab the victim’s black backpack and a scuffle took place. The assailants threw the victim to the ground, kicking him about the body and head before making good their escape with the backpack. The victim was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The suspects are described as two black males in their late teens with close haircuts wearing all black clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
