Vehicle Fire - Around 7pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on South Road in Paget near the junction with Seabright Avenue. Officers attended the scene and discovered a black car stationary on South Road near the Botanical Gardens facing in an easterly direction. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. It appears that the car was traveling east on South Road when another motorist alerted the driver, a 26 year old Smith’s parish woman, to flames coming from underneath her vehicle. However, the small fire extinguished itself shortly after it began. The vehicle was hosed down by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel as a precaution and pushed to the side of the road. The Smith’s parish woman was not injured and no further Police action was necessary.

Missing Boat

Around 3:20pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a missing boat. The complainant stated that he last saw his boat, a 17 ft. ‘Grady White’ pleasure craft with a 140 hp Johnson outboard motor at its mooring in Mangrove Bay, Sandys parish just over a week ago. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of this vessel is encouraged to contact PC Ralph Lindo or PC Ken Pitcher at the Bermuda Police Service Marine Unit on 299-4584.

Burglary

At 4:35pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 4:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a black Dell laptop computer, a Sony PlayStation 3 video game system, eight PlayStation 3 games, a black flat screen TV and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 4pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Clarendon Road, Hamilton parish residence. It appears that sometime earlier in the week, an unknown culprit gained entry into the complainant’s home. The culprit stole an Olympus camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
