Disturbance - Around 4:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported disturbance at the Bermuda Library on Queen Street in Pembroke. It appears that a security guard on duty at the premises was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown man outside the library on Queen Street. The victim, a 67 year old Pembroke man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The assailant fled the area on foot; however the suspect, a 31 year old St. George’s man, was subsequently located and arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Injury RTC
Around 7:45am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Loyal Hill Pass involving two motorcycles. It appears that one motorcycle was traveling east on North Shore Road and the other motorcycle was exiting a private road on to North Shore Road when the vehicles collided. The rider of the eastbound motorcycle, a 37 year old St. George’s man, reportedly sustained a laceration to his left knee. The rider of the other motorcycle, a 19 year old Devonshire man, reportedly sustained a swollen right ankle. The eastbound motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the other motorcycle received minor damage to its left side.
Theft
The Bermuda Police Service Marine Unit is conducting an investigation into a reported theft of a quantity of scuba diving equipment between the 1st of December 2009 and the 21st of January 2010 from a local dive shop.
