Injury RTC - Around 2:50am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Knapton Hill in Smith’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling east on Knapton Hill when the driver, a 24 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The St. George’s woman sustained injuries to her head, ribs, arms and left knee. It appears that she was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car received extensive front end damage. The wall and an iron gate were also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Damage Only RTC
Around 4:10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with St. Paul’s Lane. It appears that a car was traveling west on South Road when the driver, a 20 year old Southampton man lost control and struck a wall, before colliding with a parked motorcycle and another wall next to an area residence. The Southampton man was not injured; however the car received front and rear end damage. The unattended motorcycle received damage to multiple areas while a section of wall near a Paget home was demolished. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Injury RTC/Impaired Driving
Around 3:40am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road. It appears that a jeep was traveling west on Harbour Road when the driver, a 20 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a utility pole. The Warwick man sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The jeep was extensively damaged. Electricity supply was reportedly affected in the area as a result and BELCO personnel subsequently attended the scene to repair the damaged utility pole. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 7:30pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Mission Road (in the area of Modern Mart). It appears that a truck was traveling east on South Road and a motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 41 year old Warwick man, reportedly sustained a fractured right hip. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The driver of the truck, a 54 year old Paget man, was not injured. The truck received front end damage while the motorcycle received damage to multiple areas. There was some traffic delay reported in the area at the time, as a result of this collision. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
