Injury RTC - Around 8:45pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Sandys parish near the junction with White Hill Lane involving an auxiliary cycle and a car. It appears that the car was traveling north on Middle Road and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 40 year old Warwick man, sustained a possible concussion. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 64 year old Smith’s parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles received damage to multiple areas. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 6:45pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Camp Hill in Southampton involving a truck and a car. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the truck was traveling north on Camp Hill when the vehicles collided at the junction. The driver of the car, a 51 year old Warwick woman, reportedly sustained injuries to her chest, neck and hip. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and subsequently released. The driver of the truck, a 29 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The truck received moderate front end damage while the car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Disturbance

At 10:15am on Thursday, Police received a report of a disturbance. The complainant, a female bus driver, stated that Wednesday afternoon she picked up several young men from the bus stop near Arnold’s Supermarket in Sandys parish and continued driving the bus on her scheduled route heading west. As the bus reached the area of Somerset Road and Scaur Hill around 5:20pm Wednesday, the bus driver noticed that the same young men were involved in an altercation. She pulled the bus over to the side of the road and called for Police assistance. After finding out the Police were contacted, one of the young men approached where the bus driver was sitting and showed her an unknown object in his jacket. All of the young men then made good their escape. The bus driver was not injured. It is not clear if there were any other passengers on the bus at the time. The main suspect is described as a brown skinned male wearing a black jacket. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
