Update on Surf Warning on South Shore Beaches

From the Government Department of Communication & Information (DCI) - Now that the worst of the stormy weather has passed, the Surf Warning signs that were erected by the Department of Parks at National Parks/Beaches on the South Shore have now been taken down.
However, the public is being urged to use extreme care and caution if in or around the seas in these areas. Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve has also been re-opened for public access.
The windy weather this weekend has resulted in a missing Surf Warning sign from John Smith’s Bay. The red sign which reads: “Surf Warning. Do Not Enter Water. Dangerous Surf Conditions” disappeared over the weekend. Anyone who has seen the sign is asked to contact the Department of Parks Department at 236-5902 so that they can retrieve it.
