As the year 2009 comes to an end, the Bermuda Police Service would like to recognize the hard work and dedication of all our Police officers and civilian personnel. It is their professionalism and sense of duty that helps make Bermuda safer.

In particular, we would like to recognize the following officers who were selected by their peers for awards based on their work performance and/or sporting prowess, as well as their community involvement. The awards were presented during the Police Ball which was held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Resort on Saturday, October 10th 2009 as the culmination of Police Week 2009, celebrating 130 years of policing in Bermuda.

• Overall Police Officer of the Year & Sergeant of the Year – Sergeant Gregory Grimes
• Constable of the Year – Constable Donville Yarde
• Civilian of the Year – Linda Mienzer
• Sportswoman of the Year – Constable Terry-Lynn Paynter
• Sportsman of the Year – Sergeant Clifford Roberts
