Reported Gunshots - Around 7:05am on Sunday, Police received a report of what were believed to be gunshots in the North Shore Road/Band Room Lane, Pembroke area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot reports. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 6:40am on Sunday, Police received a report of what were believed to be gunshots in the Ord Road/Dunscombe Road, Warwick area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot reports. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC

Around 12:20pm today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road. It appears that a car was traveling east on South Road when the driver, a 41 year old Southampton woman, lost control. The Southampton woman was not injured; however the car was extensively damaged.

Weekend Activity

Police continued their high visibility patrols throughout the island during the long Christmas weekend. Stop and searches were carried out at several locations and arrests made for various offences.

From 12am Friday, December 25th – 12am Monday, December 28th there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 2 reported burglaries. There were also 6 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 3 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 4 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
