Robbery - Around 8:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a robbery at the St. George’s Club. It appears that the victim, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Rose Hill Street around 8:15pm that day when he was accosted by two unknown men, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. The offenders demanded cash, with one of them removing the victim’s wallet and a Blackberry cellular phone before both men made good their escape on foot towards the golf course. The wallet contained a quantity of cash and personal items. The Pembroke man was apparently uninjured. The main suspect is described as a light brown skinned male, approximately 5’11” tall of slim build wearing a black hooded jacket and dark coloured pants. The second suspect is described as approximately 5’9” tall of slim build wearing a black hooded jacket and dark coloured pants. Both suspects are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. A 21 year old Smith’s parish man was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway. Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving
Around 2:05am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Horseshoe Road in Southampton. It appears that a car was traveling north on Horseshoe Road when the driver, a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Hamilton parish man was not injured; however he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car received front end damage. The wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Injury RTC
Around 10:40pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with St. Mark’s Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 34 year old Smith’s parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Smith’s parish man sustained a broken left leg and a neck injury. He was taken to KEMH for treatment. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Theft
Around 3:15pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a theft from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in St. George’s. The pastor stated that sometime between 12 noon and 3pm that day, an unknown culprit forced open the locked ‘poor box’ (which contains offerings from members of the public) and removed a quantity of cash while the church was open for private worship. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
