Injury RTC - Around 2:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Old Military Road in Devonshire involving a motorcycle and a van. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on Old Military Road and the van was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 50 year old Pembroke man, was apparently not injured; however his pillion passenger, a 44 year old Devonshire woman, received a cut to the right side of her face and complained of pain to her right side. Despite her injuries, she declined medical attention from EMTs at the scene. The driver of the van, a 32 year Hamilton parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 7pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Overview Hill, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:35am and 2:25pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:55pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Keith Hall Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry as well as a black laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pearman’s Hill, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 4:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver 46” Sony flat screen TV, a black 32” Samsung flat screen TV, a Sony DVD player and a Sony PlayStation 3 video game system. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 4:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cut Road, St. George’s residence. The complainants stated that sometime during the day an unknown culprit gained entry into their residence. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry and electronic equipment, including a Dell laptop computer and an X-Box video game system. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

As we approach Christmas, the Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. Residents should keep all valuables secure and out of sight; windows and doors of residences should be locked if the premises is left unattended, even for a short period of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
