Injury RTC - Around 10:20pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Camp Road involving a taxi, a motorcycle and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the taxi was traveling west on South Road and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction followed by the motorcycle when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old young man sustained head injuries and an injury to his right hand. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man and his passenger, an 18 year old Southampton man, sustained a right shoulder injury and abrasions to arms/legs respectively. The taxi driver, a 45 year old Sandys parish man was not injured, nor was his passenger, a 42 year old Southampton man. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged while the taxi and motorcycle received front end damage. All of the injured were taken to KEMH for treatment. The auxiliary cycle rider remains in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit where he is currently in stable condition. The motorcycle rider and passenger were treated for their injuries and released. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately three hours. Inquiries are underway.
At 8:15am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish outside Terceira’s gas station involving a taxi, SUV and a motorcycle. It appears that the taxi and the SUV were traveling east on North Shore Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 27 year old Pembroke man, sustained injuries including lacerations to his left hand. He was taken to KEMH for treatment and is currently on a general ward; however, his passenger declined medical attention. The drivers of the SUV and the taxi, a 40 year old Hamilton parish man and 77 year old Devonshire man respectively, were not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the SUV and taxi received front end damage. Inquiries are underway.
Injury RTC/Impaired Driving
At 3pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Church Street and Par-La-Ville Road in the City of Hamilton involving a car, SUV and a pedestrian. It appears that the SUV was traveling west on Church Street when it stopped at the junction complying with the traffic light which was red. The car was traveling in the same direction behind the SUV when the driver lost control and collided with the rear of the SUV. The car then mounted the sidewalk and collided with the traffic light and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 38 year old Sandys parish woman, sustained abrasions to her body. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance, treated and released. The driver of the car, a 63 year old Pembroke man and the driver of the SUV, a 52 year old Smith’s parish woman, were not injured; however the driver of the car was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The SUV received rear end damage while the car received front end damage. The traffic light was also dislodged from its base. Inquiries are underway.
