Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 65 year old Rebecca Blynd of Florida, U.S.A. Mrs. Blynd was found in an unresponsive state by friends at a Cedar Vale Lane, Devonshire residence around 7:10pm Saturday. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician. Foul play is not suspected; however an autopsy is anticipated in due course. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.
Vehicle Fire
Around 4am today, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on Union Street in Pembroke. The complainant stated that around 3:50am she discovered her vehicle ablaze. Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel attended the scene and extinguished the fire. The SUV received left side rear end damage as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Injury RTC
Around 10pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish outside the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however, it appears that a car was traveling along North Shore Road when the driver, a 36 year old St. George’s man, lost control and collided with a wall. The St. George’s man sustained an injury to his hand and a laceration to his left leg. He was treated at KEMH and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Willful Damage/Theft
Around 10am on Sunday, Police received a report of willful damage/theft involving several vehicles parked on Tumkins Lane in Pembroke. It appears that an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the vehicles overnight; however at this time it is unclear what, if anything was stolen. Inquiries into these incidents are underway.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 reported burglaries. There were also 6 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 5 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
