Around 11:20pm on Saturday, Police received a report of an assault/robbery on Cloverdale Road in Devonshire. The victim, a 46 year old St. George’s man, stated that around 10:15pm he was riding his motorcycle along Cloverdale Road when he reached a dark area and saw two unknown men standing in the road, blocking his path. One of the suspects told the St. George’s man to get off his motorcycle and to take his jacket and helmet off. The victim did so; however the suspects proceeded to assault him anyways, punching him about the body and head. During the attack the 46 year old fell to the ground but managed to escape his assailants on foot, running to the Collector’s Hill Esso gas station. He returned to the scene a short time later and found his motorcycle and helmet where he had left them. However, his jacket containing personal items was missing as well as the reading glasses he was wearing at the time. The 46 year old St. George’s man then rode to KEMH where he was treated for facial bruising/swelling and a cut to his left hand and released. The suspects are described as two men; one approximately 5’8” tall wearing a green jacket. The other approximately 5’10” tall wearing a black hooded jacket; both suspects were wearing dark coloured helmets with visors. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
