The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 22 year old American national Richard Mulloy. Around 1:15 this morning, Police received a report of a passenger falling onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Majesty docked at Ordinance Island in St. Georges. On arrival at the location a short time later, officers spoke with the ships captain, chief security officer and members of the ships medical personnel as well as the deceaseds cousin, who is also a passenger on the ship. It appears that Mr. Mulloy had returned to the ship with his cousin after they had a few drinks together at a nearby St. Georges establishment. Around 12:25am the men were on the 5th deck of the ship intending to go to the disco on the 7th deck when the 22 year old American man fell from the 5th deck to the 1st deck. Two nurses onboard attended the scene and discovered the victim in an unresponsive state. They immediately gave him CPR and tended to a head wound sustained from the fall. Mr. Mulloy was then rushed to KEMH via ambulance where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries at 3:11am and was pronounced dead by an on call physician. Inquiries into this incident are underway. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.
Burglary
At 12:50pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a North Shore Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 9am and 12:10pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Toshiba DVD player and a Sony camcorder as well as a quantity of jewelry, cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Theft
At 10:50am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a theft from a North Shore Road, Devonshire residence. The complainant stated that around 10:40am she was taking out the trash when an unknown man walked into her home and stole a silver Canon digital camera. The complainants husband gave chase; however, the suspect made good his escape on a motorcycle. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5 9 tall weighing around 200 pounds, wearing a dark green shirt, baggy jeans and a black helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
