Burglary

At 7:15pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Inghams Vale, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8am and 7pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry and coins. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

Around 6:20pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget, near the junction with Honey Hill Drive. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 70 year old Paget man, lost control attempting to negotiate a right hand bend. The Paget man sustained bruising to his face, left shoulder and left leg. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The cycle received minor damage.

Theft

At 8:40am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported theft from a Happy Valley Road, Pembroke premises. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:30am and 8am that day, an unknown culprit entered the open workshop and stole a red lawn mower, a red weed trimmer, a red 5 gallon gas container and a silver radio. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that during this Easter weekend officers will be patrolling throughout the island, paying particular attention to areas and events where large gatherings are scheduled to take place, such as Horseshoe Bay beach. We are reminding motorists to drive with care, caution and courtesy; not to drink and drive but to use a designated driver instead; and to park their vehicles in marked parking areas. The Traffic Enforcement Unit will also be out over the weekend monitoring the roads for any traffic offences and tickets will be issued to any vehicles found parked illegally.
