Around 9:50pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Spanish Point Road in Pembroke near the junction with Cove Point Lane, involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the car was traveling east on Spanish Point Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the rider, an 18 year old Devonshire man, attempted to overtake another westbound car and collided with the eastbound car. The driver of the car, a 46 year old Devonshire man, was not injured. The rider of the cycle sustained a broken right arm and abrasions. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. Both vehicles received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Bob’s Valley Lane in Sandy’s parish involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was exiting a private driveway on to Bob’s Valley Lane and the motorcycle was traveling east on Bob’s Valley Lane when the rider of the cycle, a 21 year old Sandy’s parish man, lost control and the vehicles collided. The 21 year old Sandy’s parish man sustained a wound to his head and abrasions to his left hand. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the car, a 43 year old Sandy’s parish man, was not injured. Both vehicles received relatively minor damage. It appears that the cycle rider’s helmet was not fastened at the time of the collision. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
