Witness Appeal: Car Driver Pronounced Dead After Hamilton Parish Collision

Just before 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, Police and other first responders were dispatched to a serious two vehicle road traffic collision involving a private motorcar and a Department of Public Transportation (DPT) bus on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish, just east of the Aquarium.

The male motorcar driver along with several persons from on board the DPT bus were conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the collision.

Sadly, the motorcar driver was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Bermuda Police Service offers sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.

We are aware that images of the collision scene with the motorcar driver still inside the vehicle are now being circulated on social media. We are appealing for you to not forward these images on should you receive them.

The roadway was closed to all traffic for approximately four hours, while the collision scene was forensically processed. We wish to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation while this was done.

An investigation into this collision has now begun.
