Fri, 2014-05-02

Around 10pm on Thursday, May 1st first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish.

It appears that two motorcycles were being ridden along Blue Hole Hill when they collided near the entrance to the Swizzle Inn.

Both injured riders, a 47 year old Devonshire man and a 28 year old St. George’s man, were apparently treated at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance; however their injuries are not believed to be serious.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene.

At last check the Devonshire man was recovering in stable condition on a general ward while the St. George’s man had been treated and discharged.

Both motorcycles were damaged and one of the motorcyclists involved, the 47 year old Devonshire man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to contact PC Kyle Outerbridge at the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.
