Three Vehicle Collision on South Road in Warwick: No Serious Injuries

Around 3:40pm Thursday, June 13th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Dunscombe Road.

It appears that a taxi was being driven east along South Road followed by a motorcyclist and a car was being driven in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

Apparently the car struck the taxi and then the motorcyclist struck the back of the taxi.

The motorcyclist, said to be a 51 year old Hamilton parish woman and the car driver, said to be a 79 year old Southampton man, were hurt.

Both were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged. The taxi driver was not injured.

All three vehicles were damaged and traffic diversions were in effect while the scene was processed. Any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to call Constable Ryan Swan on the main police telephone number 295-0011.
