Death of John Hall

It is with deep sadness that Commissioner of Police Mr. Michael DeSilva reports the untimely death of our colleague and friend 55 year old Mr. John Hall. John joined us from Hempstead, Hertfordshire UK as a Crime Scene Investigator (Support Staff) in October 2011. He passed away at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital this morning.

Update: Two Vehicle Collision in Paget

The 50 year old Devonshire man injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car around 7:30pm Wednesday, November 27th on South Road in Paget at the entrance to Ice Queen was treated and later discharged from hospital.

His pillion passenger, a 41 year old woman also attended the hospital, apparently for treatment of minor injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

Two Vehicle Collision in Paget Tonight

First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 7:26pm on Wednesday evening on South Road in Paget in front of Ice Queen. It appears that a car collided with a cycle at the entrance and this resulted in the motorcyclist and his passenger being taken to the hospital. The rider, a 50 year old man is being treated for what is believed to be leg and back injuries while the passenger and the driver of the car were uninjured.

Western Community Action Team Community Clinics This Week

The second and third community clinics for residents of the western parishes (Sandys, Southampton and Warwick) hosted by the Bermuda Police Service Western Community Action Team will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

Wednesday, November 27th – Warwick Esso Tigermarket parking lot, #66 Middle Road, Warwick from 2pm to 6pm.

Thursday, November 28th – Heron Bay Market Place Supermarket parking lot, Middle Road, Southampton from 2pm to 6pm.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested seven people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested 21 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.

Western Community Action Team Host Community Clinics Starting Monday

The Bermuda Police Service Western Community Action Team invites residents of the western parishes (Sandys, Southampton and Warwick) to get to know their Community Action Team (CAT) officers at three upcoming community clinics promoting police interacting with area residents to make a difference in their communities.

Monday, November 25th – Maximart Supermarket parking lot, #42 Middle Road, Hog Bay, Sandys from 2pm to 6pm.

Update: Reported Serious Collision

The 47 year old Hamilton parish man and 46 year old Warwick man believed seriously injured in a motorcycle and auxiliary cycle collision around 8:40pm Thursday, November 21st on East Broadway in Pembroke have both been treated and subsequently discharged from hospital.

Initial reports suggested that the two riders had sustained serious injuries in Thursday night’s collision.

Reported Serious Collision Tonight

At 8:40pm first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision on East Broadway in the area of the Rubis Gas Station and Blue Waters Anglers Club in Pembroke.

It appears that a cycle was traveling east and another west when it appears that the cycles collided. Both victims were taken to the hospital where both are being treated for what at this point is being described as serious injuries.

Two Car Collision in Devonshire

Around 1:15am on Thursday, November 21st police and first responders attended a reported two car collision on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Christ Church Lane.

It appears that both cars were being driven along Middle Road when they collided. The injured drivers, a 46 year old Pembroke woman and a 49 year old Devonshire man, were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

The Pembroke woman was later discharged. At last check the Devonshire man was still receiving treatment at the hospital.

Update: Four Burglary Suspects Arrested in Warwick

The investigation into a burglary at a Rocklands View, Warwick residence is ongoing, with evidence still being secured at that location. Western Community Action Team officers are also in the neighbourhood to provide reassurance to area residents.

The four male suspects arrested in connection with this matter range in age from 24 to 43 years old. They remain in police custody and a court appearance is anticipated in due course.
