At 6:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported attempted handbag snatch on Harrington Sound Road in Smith's parish. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, who are visitors to the island. The couple stated that around 5pm they were riding their rental cycle on South Road near John Smith's Bay when they stopped in a bus lay by to take pictures.
At 12:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Paynters Road in St. George's. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 30 year old man and a 22 year old woman, who are visitors to the island. They stated that earlier they were riding their rental cycle north on Paynters Road when two men on a motorcycle rode up alongside them.
The Bermuda Police Service Fraud Unit has recorded an increase in the number of counterfeit BDA $100 notes being passed throughout the island. Businesses and individuals alike are advised to be on the lookout for suspected counterfeit currency in ALL denominations. Currently there are identified counterfeit notes in circulation that bear the following serial numbers -
Around 10:40am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Burnt House Hill involving two cars.
At 9:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported assault at a Fentons Drive, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 35 year old Pembroke man, who stated that he was inside his house when a man who also lives there allowed a group of men to enter. Once inside the group of men assaulted the Pembroke man using bladed weapons.
Around 4:45 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Warwick guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime around 4:15am one of the complainants was awoken by a noise in their room. She then observed a man outside the room who made good his escape on foot. The culprit stole U.S. $500 in cash.
At 2:35 this morning, a 56 year old Pembroke man and a 44 year old Pembroke man were arrested on Union Street in Pembroke on suspicion of theft. The arrests were made in connection with the reported theft of sneakers/shoes from Boyle's on Tuesday.
Injury RTC
Around 10 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at Boyle's on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival an officer spoke with the complainant and the store manager. They stated that the culprit gained entry into the shore store sometime between 5pm on Saturday and 9am on Tuesday, removing $723 in cash and 32 pairs of shoes/sneakers. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 9pm on Sunday, Police received a report of spectators injured at the Monster Truck Show at Kindley Field in St. George's.
