Car Collides With Wall in Hamilton Parish

Around 12:20am on Thursday, October 9th first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Old Road.

It appears that a car was being driven along North Shore Road when it collided with a wall. The driver, a 46 year old Pembroke man and his passenger, a 43 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained relatively minor injuries.

Reported Serious Two Vehicle Collision on Crow Lane

Around 1:45pm on Wednesday, October 8th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two vehicle collision at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill in Pembroke involving a truck and a motorcycle.

The injured male motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. An update on his condition will be provided when further details are available.

135th Anniversary Parade of Staff & Historic Lecture

At 11am tomorrow, Wednesday October 8th as part of Police Week 2014 celebrating 135 years of policing, the Bermuda Police Service will host a Parade of Staff (Past & Present) led by the Bermuda Regiment Band & Corps of Drums through the City of Hamilton.

The route will be from Hamilton Police Station along Court Street on to Front Street, along Front Street to the Bird Cage and up Queen Street, ending at City Hall. The procession will culminate with a historic photo on the steps of City Hall.

Two Vehicle Collision in Warwick

Around 6pm on Sunday, October 5th first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Khyber Pass.

It appears that two cars were being driven along Middle Road in opposite directions when they collided.

Two Vehicle Collision in Southampton

Around 7:30am on Friday, October 3rd first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Rebecca Road.

It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road and a motorcycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided.

Advisory: ‘Phishing’ Scams

Once again the Bermuda Police Service would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant regarding phone calls, e-mails and other correspondence from unknown persons that attempt to obtain personal information or other sensitive data.

Commonly referred to as ‘phishing’, examples include misleading e-mails claiming to be from local banks, asking the recipient to update their security details, as well as unknown callers who offer to help residents with alleged glitches reportedly affecting their home computers.

135th Anniversary Police Convoy of Vehicles

In celebration of 135 years of policing in Bermuda and the official date of the establishment of The Bermuda Police Service (October 1st 1879), the BPS police convoy display took place today, consisting of over 31 vehicles representing a cross section of vehicles in the police fleet. This dynamic visual display was the Service’s way of saying thank you to the community for the  support over the years. It is our wish that the convoy will create an iconic memory in the hearts and minds of Bermuda’s youth, establish positive relationships and plant a seed that one day may inspire them to join the BPS.

Tenth Road Fatality for 2014: Troy Robinson

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 46 year old Troy Robinson and extends condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Robinson was initially warded in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after the motorcycle he was riding collided with another motorcyclist around 12:30pm Monday, September 29th along North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Coney Island Road East. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries at 5:29pm Monday.

32nd Meeting Open: INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children

At 9:30am on Tuesday, September 30th the 32nd Meeting of the Interpol Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children, hosted by the Bermuda Police Service, was officially opened at the Fairmont Southampton.
