Advisory on St. George's Police Station & Southside Police Station

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) would like the public, especially residents of the east end of the island, to be aware that from 8am on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 the BPS will close the doors of St. George's Police Station pending renovations being carried out by the Department of Works & Engineering.

There will be no 'walk in' counter for public assistance at St. George's Police Station from that time; however, there will be a phone attached to the outside of the station that when picked up will automatically connect the called to a Station Duty Officer at Southside Police Station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Also, at 8am on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 Southside Police Station will open for all policing enquiries and assistance to the public. The Police Station is located at the old #2 Gate of the former U.S. Naval Air Station and is blue-green in colour. Signs have already been erected clearly marking the building as a Police Station. The physical address of Southside Police Station is #2 Stokes Road, Southside St. George's DD03. The telephone number will be 293-2222. There will be a formal 'official' opening of the new station on Tuesday, January 16, 2007.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
