Rudy Lamar Smith Murder Investigation Continues 10 Years Later

Acting Detective Inspector (ADI) Jason Smith - “Today the 9th July 2022, is the tenth year anniversary that Rudy Smith (pictured) went missing. Rudy was reported missing by family and friends 9th July 2012, and at that time his disappearance was suspicious and a police investigation commenced. As a result of those initial police investigations, Rudy Smith’s disappearance became a murder investigation and police lines of enquiry were now centred on that. Today, this murder investigation remains active and police have identified a number of persons of interest to this inquiry.

During the course of this investigation it is believed that there were a number of people directly involved in Rudy Smith’s murder. There are also a number of persons that witnessed activities in and around the Parsons Road, Deep Dale area that can assist the Bermuda Police Service in bringing closure to Rudy’s family and people to justice. So we are appealing to members of our community that have information on the disappearance and murder of Rudy Smith, make contact with the Senior Investigating Officer ADI Jason Smith on 441-717-0864 or email jsmith2@bps.bm or the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

Rudy Smith might be gone, but he is not forgotten and you can be a part of ensuring justice is served.”

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
