A 16-year-old St. George’s girl seriously hurt after a collision occurred involving the 50cc scooter she was riding (apparently headed east) and a van (apparently being driven west) along South Road in Southampton, near Dolphin Ridge, around 12:15pm today (Sunday, 30th May) sadly later succumbed to her injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) extends sincere condolences to the 16-year-old girl’s family and friends. A BPS Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support her loved ones.
This marks the fifth road fatality for 2021. Formal identification is anticipated on Monday, 31st May.
Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately three hours while a Traffic Collision Investigator and the Forensic Support Unit processed the scene.
The investigation regarding the circumstances of this fatal collision continues and any witnesses are now asked to call Constable Walter Jackson at the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788 or e-mail wjackson@bps.bm as soon as possible.
