COVID-19 Stay at Home Public Spaces Restrictions

The public is reminded that under the COVID-19 Emergency Powers 'Stay at Home' Regulations 2021, persons will not be allowed access to the following:

•           The railway trails.

•           All public parks.

•           All public beaches.

•           All playgrounds.

•           All golf courses.

Members of the public are not allowed to use these areas for recreational purposes or to exercise.

Persons who fail to comply with these restrictions could be faced with a fine of six thousand dollars for a first offence.

A second offence could lead to a fine of ten thousand dollars and or three months’ imprisonment.

Martin Weekes – Assistant Commissioner of Police explained: “The aim is not to arrest people and bring them before the courts, but rather to ensure compliance with the stay at home regulations.

However, those who choose not to comply, can expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
