Around 4:00 p.m. today, Wednesday 24th February, 2020, police responded to a report of a stabbing incident at the bus terminal in the City of Hamilton.

Upon arrival officers were informed the victim a sixteen-year-old male had suffered a stab wound to the chest and left on a motorcycle headed to King Edward Hospital, where at last check, he was undergoing emergency surgery.

His injuries which were described as life threatening.

Two suspects, a twenty-year-old male and a nineteen-year-old male, were subsequently seen standing at the bus stop at the corner of Court and Church Streets.

Officers attended the scene and arrested both suspects, one of them as he attempted to flee and the other as he attempted to board a PTB bus. Both men were taken into custody.

A knife believed to have been used in the stabbing incident was also recovered on the bus.

There was a minor traffic delay as a result of the police activity at the bus stop and passengers had to be transferred as the bus on which the suspects were arrested was processed by officers from the Forensic Science Unit (FSU).

Update: February 25th - The victim in yesterday’s stabbing incident remains in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
