Police Officer Injured Issuing Parking Ticket Treated & Discharged [Updated]

The Bermuda Police Service is investigating an incident which resulted in an officer having to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred shortly after three this afternoon on Reid Street outside of Phoenix stores.

The officer was in the process of issuing a parking ticket to a male driver who reportedly attempted to drive off and struck the officer resulting in her having to be taken to hospital for treatment to injuries sustained during the incident.

A forty eight year old Sandys Parish man has been taken into custody in connection with this incident.

Update: The female officer injured as she attempted to ticket a driver on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton earlier this afternoon, has been attended to at hospital and discharged.


All incidents are under investigation.
