At approximately 4:25 this morning, Wednesday November 20, 2019, police received a 911 call that a sixty-four year old male was stabbed during a break in at his Westering Lane Warwick residence.
Upon arrival police were informed the victim was asleep in his living room when he was awakened by a noise and found an unknown male in the room with him.
The sixty-four year old male confronted the intruder and alerted his family.
A struggled ensued between family members and the suspect, during which the suspect stabbed the 64 year old male in his abdomen, with a small knife, while another male relative sustained a cut to his hand.
The sixty four year old was attended to at the scene by EMTs and was subsequently transported to King Edward Hospital, alert and responsive, for further treatment.
The suspect, described as five foot, six inch tall, male, wearing dark clothing and a mask, then fled the residence through the kitchen door and is believed to have left the area on foot
