Reported Serious Collision on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick [Updated]

Around 9:15pm Tuesday, September 24th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel responded to a reported serious two vehicle collision on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick near the junction with Hillview Road involving a car and a motorcyclist.

It appears that the vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions at the time and early information indicates that the male rider sustained head injuries.

He has been rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

Traffic diversions are currently in effect while the scene is being processed.

Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.

It appears that the vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions at the time.

The injured rider, said to be a 26 year old Sandys parish man, was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of head and facial wounds.

At last check this morning (September 25th) he was listed in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

The car driver, said to be a 28 year old Southampton man, was not hurt.

However, both vehicles were damaged. Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately three hours while the scene was processed.

Any witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
