Residents Reminded to be Vigilant Regarding Investment Scams

The Bermuda Police Service is once again advising all residents to remain vigilant regarding scams that appear to be legitimate investment opportunities.

A recent report to police highlighted a scam involving digital currency, where the website used for trading the electronic cash was found to be fraudulent.

The website address, www.iforexlive.co.uk, has since been suspended.

It is strongly recommended that such transactions are only conducted through well-known and reputable financial institutions.

Any incidents of suspected internet fraud should be reported to the Financial Crime Unit on telephone number 247-1757 or via the e-mail address fraud2@bps.bm.

Advice on how to avoid and report scams can also be found at https://www.gov.bm/how-avoid-and-report-scams.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
