BPS Short Essay Contest in Honour of International Women’s Day

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) invites all female middle school students and female senior school students to enter a short essay contest in honour of International Women’s Day 2019, which is recognised on Friday, March 8th this year.

The topic of the 200-word essay is: “What does female empowerment mean to you?”

The best short essays will be chosen and those female student authors will have the opportunity to ‘work shadow’ professional women in key BPS roles on March 8th.

As you may know, the International Women’s Day campaign theme for 2019 is #BalanceforBetter – and the aim of this BPS short essay contest is to encourage young women to aspire to positions of leadership across the island.

Entries must be e-mailed to pmr@bps.bm no later than 5pm Monday, March 4th.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
