Sudden Death of 15 Year Old Girl in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

Around 11:55am today (January 7th) police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a report of a 15 year old girl in an unresponsive state at a My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish residence.

Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and as the teenager was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, she was later pronounced dead.

No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, until her next of kin is notified.

Update: Tuesday, January 8th - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 15 year old Ms. Kiara Paiva and extends sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Ms. Paiva was found in an unresponsive state around 11:55am Monday, January 7th at her My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish residence by a family member.

Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and as the teenager was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, sadly Ms. Paiva was later pronounced dead.

The scene has been processed by the relevant police personnel and inquiries continue.

Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.
