Sudden Death of 66 Year Old Erroll Cross

On Thursday 1st November 2018 approximately 5:30pm police and officers from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a structural fire at # 33 Scott’s Hill Road, Sandys wherein the two storey home was destroyed by the blaze.

During the search of the home by fire personnel the body of a male person was recovered from within, in an unresponsive state, who was later pronounced deceased.

Since which he has been positively identified by a family member as the occupant of the home Mr. Erroll Cross. A Police Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the family.

At this stage of the inquiry, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing to the community for any witnesses, and or any person(s) who may have seen or spoken with Mr. Cross prior to this unfortunate and tragic incident to come forward and assist with any information that can help, by calling Acting Detective Inspector Clifford Roberts on 717-0590 or Acting Detective Sergeant Odessa Philip on 717-2193, or by contacting the Crime Unit at 247-1744.

The Bermuda Police Service also wish to extend their sincere condolences to the family on their loss.


All incidents are under investigation.
