Reported Collision in Warwick [Updated]

Around 5:45pm today (March 7th) police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick.

Initial information suggests that a car and a motorcycle were involved, with the male rider sustaining injuries that may be serious.

He has already been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and an update on his condition will be provided in due course.

Traffic diversions are currently in effect in the area while the scene is processed by the relevant police personnel.

Any witnesses to this collision are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

8:20pm Update: Traffic diversions in the Middle Road, Khyber Pass Warwick area are no longer in effect. The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the motoring public for their patience while the collision scene was processed. Inquiries continue.

Update: Thursday, March 8th - Around 5:45pm Wednesday, March 7th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass in Warwick.

It now appears that a 19 year old Warwick man riding a motorcycle in the eastbound lane slid out into the path of a car being driven in the opposite direction.

The teenager was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and although initial information suggested that his injuries may be serious, he was treated and later discharged.

The car driver, a 58 year old Sandys parish man, was also transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment and later discharged.

Traffic was diverted away from the collision site for approximately two and a half hours while the scene was processed by the relevant police personnel.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Gavin Richardson on the main police telephone number 295-0011.


All incidents are under investigation.
