Cash Taken in Reported Armed Robbery

Detectives are investigating a report of robbery that occurred at about 7:25am on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Khyber Pass. At the time, the male complainant was riding his motorcycle east along the said road when two males on another motorcycle rode alongside and brandished what appeared to be a firearm and a machete. The suspects were riding a red Honda Airblade style bike. The complainant’s motorcycle was taken from him along with a large quantity of cash from a local business.

One of the suspects was wearing a red rain jacket, and the second suspect had on blue jeans and a light coloured sweat top. They made their escape in an easterly direction.

The victim's motorcycle was recovered a short time later by police who have seized it for forensic examination.

Detectives are conducting a full & comprehensive investigation, with CCTV being examined from the area, and recovery & examination of other evidence.

We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have any information, or who may have seen the suspects or this incident along Middle Road, Warwick (or anywhere else fitting this description) between 7:00 & 7:30 am this morning.

Motorists who were travelling along the road at this time are urged to come forward – and ask the driver of a grey coloured Peugeot motorcar who stopped to speak with the victim and witnessed the event, to come forward.

All information provided will be treated in confidence.
